DKIT are creating a series of Data Analytics courses to address the growing analytics sector in Ireland.

This is due to Ireland being a hub for companies like Facebook and Google, who require skilled graduates who can effectively perform data analytics. Skill Ireland has estimated that by 2020, there will be between 49,000 to 62,000 roles in analytics in Ireland.

“The analytics sector is undergoing significant growth in Ireland and employers are increasingly feeding back that they need people with deep analytical skills in both the areas of business and computing”, said Anton Barrett, the Head of Lifelong Learning at DKIT, in a feature on the DkIT website.

According to Dr. Fiona Lawless, a lecturer in DKIT, these are the first courses of their kind to be offered in the North Leinster and South Ulster region. They have been designed with flexibility in mind and were created through direct consultation with employers.

Two of the courses available also benefit from subsidization through the Government’s Springboard+ Scheme, which reduces tuition fees for anyone eligible.
