Louth's Breathnach to back Gavin Duffy in Presidential election
Louth Fianna Fáil TD Declan Breathnach has announced he will campaign for local entrepreneur Gavin Duffy, should he secure the required nominations for the Presidential election.
Talking to the Michael Reid Show on LMFM this morning, Deputy Breathnach confirmed that although the Fianna Fáil party has chosen to back Michael D. Higgins for a second term in office, he will be backing the Drogheda business man for the Áras.
In response to the question posed on LMFM as to whether or not he would break rank and support Mr Duffy, Deputy Breathnach said, "Absolutely, I'm entitled to vote for whom I believe."
When asked if he would campaign for Gavin Duffy should he be nominated, his answer was "absolutely."
