HIQA has issued a closure notice on four of the eight residential units at St John of Gods facility in Drumcar.
The Heath Information and Quality Authority has stated that they are not fit for purpose. This comes on the back of an RTE investigation into the facility.
In a statement HIQA said it was to "safeguard the residents."
The facility has 28 days to appeal.
