Council announce the reopening of the N2 at Blakestown

The N2 reopened today.

Louth County Council wishes to advise that the N2 at Blakestown, Ardee which has been closed to facilitate road works, will reopen to traffic on Wednesday 14th December 2016.

The closure of the road had been a major inconvenience to road users in the area.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland has allocated €1.6 million for realignment work to be done on Blakestown Cross to make it safer following a number of fatal accidents in the past.

Work started in late September and in fact finished ahead of the original December 21st deadline.
