Dundalk school Coláiste Lu through to regional final

Irish teachers, Neasa Ní Chonluain and Mícheál Ó Coailte witheth victorius Gaeil Linn debating team from Coláiste Lú at the GAA centre in Garvaghey in Co. Tyrone.

Coláiste Lú debaters celebrated victory again on Thurs 24th November and are through to the Regional final of Comórtas Uí Chadhain, run by Gael Linn.

Team members Caoimhe Nic Cormaic, Justin Ó hÁgáin and Daniel Ó Nordáin travelled with their Irish teacher Neasa Ní Chonluain, Stiúrthóir Mícheál Ó Caoillte and fellow supporters to Tyrone GAA Garvaghey centre to debate the motion 'Is rud maith é gur oileán í Éire' (It's a good thing that Ireland is an island).

The Coláiste Lu debaters proposed the motion outlining the myriad of benefits associated with living on our native island. The team debated against Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair from Donegal, Coláiste Pobail Ráth Chairn from Co. Meath and Gaelcholáiste Dhoire fom Co. Derry.

The judges commended all three speakers on their excellent debating skills, the depth of research into the topic and use of rebuttals. The team will now compete in the Regional Final which is taking place on Monday December 12th in the Boyne Valley Hotel in Drogheda.
