BIG BIRTHDAY: World War 1 hadn't even begun when this Dundalk resident was born!

There can't be many older than Mary Hughes in Ireland, let alone Dundalk, as she celebrated her 104th birthday at Blackrock Abbey Nursing Home last week.
Her date of birth is 29th October 1912! That's two years BEFORE the start of World War 1 and nearly four years before the Easter Rising!
Mary had a big party to celebrate her birthday in the nursing home. She has two children and two grandchildren, plus three great-grandchildren.
Mary is originally from Kilmainhamwood, Co Meath and moved to Killaney in 1941 when she married her husband James Hughes.
