Defeat finally admitted in Dundalk eBay battle, but new 'work from home' scheme a possibility


Louth Deputy Declan Breathnach has today confirmed that he has received written communication from Wendy Jones, Senior Vice President of eBay that the company is not seeking to continue operations in Dundalk or look at alternate venues.

“There had been mixed messages on this issue given to staff members and I felt obliged not to admit defeat until absolutely every avenue was explored”.

“I am extremely disappointed at their decision but I am satisfied that I have made every effort on behalf of the staff of eBay Dundalk”.

“The company are offering Dundalk employees the opportunity to apply for jobs in Dublin and are also exploring an innovative “work from home” model to facilitate staff.”
