Luis Carmo Reis Presidet Dundalk Chamber Una McGoey,Ambassador Bernardo Lucena, Paddy Malone PRO Chamber and Pamela Kerr Louth LEO
The Portuguese Ambassador, Bernardo Lucena and the Economic Attaché, Luis Carmo Reis, visited Dundalk again on Wednesday.
The two had a busy schedule as the Chamber had arranged for local companies to meet them on a one-to-one basis which was facilitated by the Louth Leo in the Town Hall.
Both expressed the visit a success noting a considerable increase in engagement and optimism among those that they met.
The President of Dundalk Chamber, Una McGoey welcomed both and referred to previous meetings. Paddy Malone, PRO and Pamela Kerr of the Louth LEO office also attended for part of the meeting.
The Ambassador wished to know about the impact of Brexit and the general economic position.
Ms McGoey indicated that trade was strong and Christmas trade had been positive.
Mr Malone raised the issue of cross border workers. The Ambassador demonstrated a great awareness of the issue.
Other matters discussed included the tourism potential of the region.
