Pat Shortt's show cancelled after hotel closes to accommodate asylum seekers

Pat Shortt’s show in the Racket Hall Hotel has been cancelled after the hotel closed to accommodate asylum seekers.

This announcement comes after a stand-off involving 200 protestors and members of the Garda Public Order Unit, which took place at the Racket Hall Hotel in Roscrea, Co Tipperary.

Announcing the news on social media, the comedian commented: “We are very sorry to announce that our concert at The Racket Hall Roscrea on Friday the 9th of February 2024 has had to be cancelled due to the closure of the hotel.”

Earlier this Monday, Garda prevented protestors the access to the hotel premises as asylum seekers have been moved into the hotel.

One person was arrested.
