Plans underway for new museum, shop and accommodation in Carlingford

Plans are underway for a new museum in Carlingford with a planning application lodged with Louth County Council.

Visit Carlingford Limited has applied to the local planning authority for planning permission for the change of use of the ground floor area of an existing B&B and stores at Newry Street in Carlingford to a museum with associated events space.

It is also seeks planning permission for a shop, tea room and off-licence, that includes an extension to the ground floor area and a new traditional shop front.

Along with this Visit Carlingford Limited is seeking planning permission for the re-configuration of the first floor B&B area to six bedsits, with independent rear access to an external landing and 12 conservation grade rooflights.

A decision is due on the application by 23 October 2023, with submissions due by 2 October.
