Morgan's Fine Fish in Omeath & MarVal Power develop innovative solar project
Morgan's Fine Fish, an award winning family run business in Omeath, and MarVal Power, a leading provider of renewable energy solutions, have joined forces to develop an innovative solar photovoltaic (PV) project.
The design of this system is built, the businesses say, around driving environmental responsibility, maximising energy generation and providing a sustainable future.
Demonstrating a shared commitment, the key objectives of this project are in line with Morgan’s policy on corporate responsibility and supporting the community. This includes reducing their carbon footprint, optimising energy consumption and promoting sustainable manufacturing processes.
Tailored to meet Morgan’s specific requirements, the solar PV system boasts 125 Longi 415W PV solar panels and 2 x 25kW SMA Core 1 inverters. With a capacity of 55kWp, it has been designed by MarVal Power using Tier 1, Bloomberg manufacturers.
The solar PV system is making a substantial contribution to mitigating greenhouse gas emissions, Morgan's says, playing a pivotal role in supporting the company’s sustainability objectives.
The system is generating 16% of their total needs with clean energy on-site. In addition, the company is removing 19t of co2 emissions every year – the equivalent of planting 665 trees. Moreover, the venture is producing substantial electricity savings of over 50,000kWh per annum.
MarVal Power’s expertise in renewable energy solutions, coupled with Morgan’s commitment to responsible sourcing and production, creates a formidable alliance based on and driven by strong environmental principles, they say.
“We are delighted to embark on this solar PV project in collaboration with MarVal Power,” said Gillian Morgan, Sales Manager at Morgan’s Fine Fish.
“It aligns with our mission to source responsibly and operate in an environmentally conscious manner. By embracing renewable energy, we are taking an important step forward in reducing our carbon footprint and championing a sustainable future for the seafood industry.”
Fionnuala Carr, Director at MarVal Power, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “As a leading provider of renewable energy solutions, MarVal Power is excited to collaborate with Morgan’s Fine Fish on this solar PV project.
"By delivering customised solar solutions, we empower businesses to transition to clean energy, driving both financial and environmental benefits. We are committed to supporting Morgan’s Fine Fish in their sustainability journey.”
The joint effort between MarVal Power and Morgan highlights the significance of integrating sustainable practices into business operations. This partnership showcases the viability of renewable energy solutions and the positive impact they have on reducing their carbon footprint.
