Louth Motors: Peugeot 408 launched

Peugeot 408

The Irish launch of the sleek 408 by Peugeot took place recently in the glorious Cashel Palace hotel.

It’s a fastback shape and squarely aimed at the Renault Arkana / imminent Citroen C4X and C5X, Cupra Formentor, Audi Q3 Sportback and the VW Arteon Shooting Brake.

Different cars, different price brackets but all striving to make an impact and choosing different ways of doing it.

Peugeot have gone for looks with the brief to be good looking from every angle and they have scored top marks there.

They have also created an elevated look that we like and slashed the roof to give that sleek sporty look.

There are three trim levels available with an entry price of €4 short of €40k.

It has the latest i-Cockpit from Peugeot which is 3D. Power comes from their wonderful 1.2l 130 hp petrol engine that’s fitted to nearly every model Peugeot sells along with two hybrid models.

PHEV and all electric are coming as Peugeot relentlessly charges to an all electric brand by 2030 and will launch five new additional all-electric models by 2025.
