Meet the Louth General Election candidates: Ged Nash- Labour

Ged Nash

"I have a strong track-record of robust and honest representation for the people of Louth.

"My full-time office and service has helped thousands of constituents over many years.

"In Louth, we need to dramatically speed up the building of both affordable and social homes and tackle exorbitant rents.

"I believe Labour can put a roof over everyone’s head, at a price working people can afford.

"Labour wants to use a significant portion of the Apple tax windfall to establish a State Construction Company that will allow a government with Labour involvement to dramatically boost home building far beyond the inadequate and failed targets set by the outgoing FF and FG government.

"On the cost-of-living crisis, its working people who are paying the price.

"I have led the charge nationally against high household bills. In government, Labour will take on the profiteering big companies and deliver for families.

"I will continue to campaign to secure state support for new and better paid jobs in Louth.

"I will also work to secure improved and more frequent rail services between Dundalk-Drogheda and Dublin, the re-opening of Dunleer Train Station, the delivery of the Ardee By-Pass.

"I will deliver on Labour’s commitment to an ‘Autism Guarantee’ of school places for all children and a step-change in the provision and services and supports for children with additional needs and their families.

"I am a proven changemaker, renowned for putting working people first, and who gets things done."
