Aidan Kinsella claimed the Embassy Open title with a 5–1 victory over first-time finalist Conor Hernon at the Embassy Snooker Club, Dundalk, last Wednesday.
Conor reached his first-ever final after beating his father, Derek Hernon, in the semi-final. But in the final, he came up against a very experienced opponent.

Kinsella, who had already won the tournament twice before, showed his class again to lift the trophy for a third time.

The final was sponsored by The Bodhran Bar on Bridge Street/Michelle Byrne, while Tony’s Pizzeria supplied food on the night, as they have done for years.
The final was also streamed live on Facebook and proved a great success. Club owner Derek Hernon thanked everyone involved.
He said: “I'd like to thank all the customers who support the club. I'd like to say thanks very much, and Happy Christmas and Happy New Year.
“Aidan ‘Mouse’ Kinsella is ranked as an A player in Dundalk, and he is one of the best in Dundalk at the minute.
“It’s great to run this tournament every year. It wouldn’t be a great club without the people who support us. There was some great snooker on the night.”
