All the category winners had poor starts to their rounds, with each having a double bogey on the first hole. They all recovered well to post good scores.
Category One winner Fergal Brady (PH11), who scored 25 points, had two excellent birdies on holes 4 and 8 and finished with pars on his final two holes. Fergal had to overcome two lost balls but still managed to score on each hole.
In Category Two, Jim Hanratty (PH23) had an up and down first nine holes on which he scored 14 points. However, his final four holes yielded 11 points with pars on his final two holes. His 25-point total gave him victory over Jim Fox (PH23) on countback.
Donal McArdle (PH26) had a steady round scoring on each hole. He had pars on three of the par threes and also picked up three points on two other holes for a total of 26 points and victory in Category Three.
