Tributes paid following sad passing of 'kind and reliable' Milkman from Louth

Tributes have poured in following the sad passing of Paul Mc Keown, late of Moortown, Dromiskin and formerly of Rockmount, Blackrock, Co. Louth, who died peacefully in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 16.

Paul, son of the late Hugh and Teresa Mc Keown and loving husband of Mayreath Marmion née Harmon, dear step-father of Jason, Glenda and Tracy, brother of Denis, Colm, Helen and the late Hugh, and loving grandad of Alannah, Naoise, Yonten and Layla. Paul will be sadly missed by his loving wife, stepchildren, grandchildren, brothers, sister, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Heartfelt condolences have been left on RIP.ie from those who knew and fondly remembered Paul, with one mourner writing,

"Sincere condolences to the McKeown family, Paul was our milkman for over 30 years and Hughie before him. He was so kind and reliable and always had a story or two and a smile even on the coldest most miserable days. He will be sadly missed. RIP Paul."

Another wrote,

"Really sorry to hear about Paul’s passing. He looked after us so well, for so long. Our sincere sympathies to the entire McKeown clan."

While another wrote,

"My deepest sympathies all the McKeown family, in particular Dennis with whom we spent many nights working the door back in the Day, Paul was a great man to have on your side, and always up for a bit of craic. May he rest in peace."

Funeral Arrangements

Paul’s Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday at 11am in St. Oliver Plunkett Church, Blackrock. Burial afterwards in St. Fursey’s Cemetery, Haggardstown.
