Speeding driver caught at nearly double the limit outside Louth school

Local residents have long expressed concerns about speeding in the area, especially during drop-off and collection times.

Gardaí from the Dundalk Roads Policing Unit recently detected a car travelling at 92km/h in a 50km/h zone outside Bellurgan National School.

The speeding offence was recorded shortly before the school’s finishing time.

In a statement shared by Louth Garda Síochána on Facebook, officers said the driver was clocked at almost double the legal limit outside the rural primary school. Prosecution proceedings have since commenced against the driver involved.

Local residents have long expressed concerns about speeding in the area, especially during drop-off and collection times.
