There was sad news this morning as Mr Simm’s Olde Sweet Shoppe in the Longwalk Shopping Centre announced its closure after just eight months in business.

The store, which first opened it’s doors in October last year and employed four people, will close it’s doors for the last time on 17 May.

It was the 12th store of it’s kind to open in Ireland and sold a range of old-school, retro sweets.

“It is with a very heavy heart that I bring this news to all our loyal customers”, said a spokesperson for the store..

“We are closing our door for the final time on Saturday, 17 May.

“We would like to thank every loyal customer for their loyal custom over the last eight months, its been great to meet you all.

“If you get a chance over the next couple of days pop in and say goodbye to us.”
