Creative Spark, home to Ireland’s first official Fab Academy node, proudly presents its second annual cohort of Fab Academy graduates.
Two participants have successfully completed the globally distributed five-month digital fabrication diploma, culminating in a public exhibition and a live demonstration event.
The Fab Academy 2025 Exhibition runs until 31 July 2025 at Creative Spark’s Downtown Hub in Dundalk.
Free and open daily, the exhibition showcases standout student projects developed using advanced digital fabrication techniques—including 3D printing, CNC machining, moulding, electronics, embedded systems, and project management—reflecting the core pillars of the Fab Academy curriculum.

A highlight of the exhibition will be the Demonstration Talks, taking place on Wednesday, 23 July at 6:30 PM, where each student will present their project and share insights into their process:
Carl McAteer – Nudge: A precision navigation tool designed to enhance control in 3D software environments.
Diarmuid Kelly – Hexapod Steady Table: A mobile, six-legged table enabling 3D printing on the go.
They will also be joined on the night by Mathis Lefebvre. Currently studying at Polytech Angers — part of the prestigious French Polytech network — Mathis is pursuing a multidisciplinary education in industrial automation, control systems, and computer science.
This opportunity, made possible through funding from Polytech13 and Erasmus+, allowed him to immerse himself in an English-speaking environment during his internship at Enterprise FabLab, where he worked on real-world projects in digital fabrication.
Mathis Lefebvre – LeRobot: an AI-driven robotics platform developed during his internship at Enterprise FabLab. Mathis is currently in his third year of Automated Systems & Computer Engineering at Polytech Angers, France.
Launched in 2023, Creative Spark’s Enterprise FabLab is Ireland’s first official Fab Academy node.
The intensive diploma programme runs from January to June, combining weekly global lectures directed by MIT Center for Bits and Atoms director Neil Gershenfeld with hands-on local mentorship from Education & Operations Manager Oscar Díaz.
Students gain deep experience in:
Design – CAD/CAM, 3D modelling, 3D scanning
Fabrication – 3D printing, CNC machining, moulding and casting
Electronics – Circuit design, sensors, and embedded systems
Project Development – Programming, web development, intellectual property, and commercialisation
Join them in celebrating the next generation of makers and innovators.
The exhibition is free and open daily, and the public are warmly invited to the Demonstration Talks on 23 July at 6:30 PM to meet the students and see their work in action.
Creative Spark Enterprise FabLab is supported by Enterprise Ireland through the Regional Enterprise Development Fund.
