Adjudicator Tara Butler-Frey admiring three of the entries received from Dundalk this year
Young artists who submitted entries to this year’s Texaco Children’s Art Competition are currently having their works evaluated as the judging process gets underway.
Pictured is preliminary adjudicator, Tara Butler-Frey admiring three of the entries received from Dundalk this year – a work entitled ‘The Innocence Of A Child’ by a pupil from St. Mary’s College (left), another entitled ‘Like Father, Like Dog’ by a pupil from Dundalk Grammar School (centre) and a third entitled ‘Spring Flowers’ by a pupil from St. Brigid’s Special School.
Winners in six age categories plus one category reserved exclusively for young artists with additional needs, will be announced in mid-April.
Now celebrating its 72nd year, the Texaco Children’s Art Competition is the longest-running art sponsorship in Ireland. First held in 1955, it is hosted by Valero Energy (Ireland) Limited – the company that markets fuel in Ireland under the Texaco brand.
