The Long Walk| Tuesday 24th Feb | 8pm Francis Lawrence, USA 2025, 108mins, 16
In a dystopian, authoritarian America, the economy has collapsed. Every year, a group of 50 teenage boys is given an opportunity to win a fortune and a single wish by participating in the ‘Long Walk’ - a contest to see who can walk the furthest at a steady, unbroken pace. The catch? There can only be one winner, and the other 49 walkers will be executed along the way. Ray and Pete, two of the participants, form a friendship early on and, alongside a handful of others, agree to form an alliance.
But as numbers start to dwindle and the ordeal takes its toll, it becomes more and more difficult for the boys to remain united.
