Upcoming gigs in Dundalk's Toales

Arco Arena will play in Toales on Saturday night

Thursday 12th September - Fireside Sessions present -Clara Byrne + support KOI. Free admission, Doors open 9pm

Fireside Sessions is an acoustic club that showcases the best in acoustic acts, always inside by the fire in the bar, always free admission, and is proud to welcome back the amazing Bray singer songwriter Clara Byrne.

Clara a song writing graduate of BIMM Dublin and has played all around Ireland and gigged extensively while living abroad in Berlin and San Francisco, and has been fortunate enough to support a wealth of Irish talent including Wallis Bird, Mick Pyro (Republic of Loose), Cathy Davey and Neil Hannon (Divine Comedy).

She finds her lyrical inspiration in the world around her and seeks solitude from that world in the music she creates, with UK reviewer Get In Her Ears describing Clara's music as “a poignant reflection of the pressures and contradictions we encounter living under capitalism… (with) sincere lyrics and rich vocals”.

Support on the night comes from local singer/songwriter and Toales' favourite KOI.

Show starts around 9pm, and as always, Fireside Sessions' admission is free!

Saturday 14th September -Arco Arena + Four Way Mirror + Lapdog - Doors 8pm, Admission €8

A very welcome return to Toales for Arco Arena, an original Irish four piece post funk / dance-rock band from the currently vibrant music scene of Dundalk.

Mixing an entirely unexpected original blend of heavy, funk-focused, shifting time signatures with straight up earworm hooks, their frenetic live shows are a rolling cascade of starting-never-stopping riffs, vivid lyricism, unstoppable danceyness and surprise mid-song trade offs between dual vocalists bassist Eoghan Maguire and guitarist Charlie Abbott.

Their staccato interwoven instrumentals, and crowd singalongs bring the term ''dance-rock'' to a new level of performance.

Support on the night comes from two excellent Dundalk-based bands, Four Way Mirror and Lapdog. Doors 8pm, admission €8.

Sunday 15th September - KOI + Rowan Murphy / Charlie Skipp / Jared. Admission €5, Doors 7pm

Toales favourites KOI makes a very welcome return to the main stage to celebrate one year since his first gig, and in that one year this local indie singer/songwriter has really made a name for himself, with his uniquely crafted original material and a few surprising cover songs that he effortlessly makes his own.

Support on the night comes from Dundalk's Rowan Murphy who brings her beautifully sung mix of original songs and maybe even a cover or two to the stage, along with local singer/songwriters Charlie Skipp and Jared.

All this for just a fiver! Note early door time of 7pm.
