“Massey enjoyed a hugely successful eight-year spell with the club between 2013 and 2020, making over 250 appearances and playing a key role in one of the most decorated periods in our history.
“During his time at Oriel Park, he lifted 5 SSE Airtricity League titles, 3 FAI Cups, 2 League Cups, an FAI President’s Cup and the Unite the Union Champions Cup.
“He was also part of the squad that made history in 2016 by becoming the first Irish side to reach the UEFA Europa League group stages.
“Signed by Stephen Kenny ahead of the 2013 season, Massey quickly established himself as an attacking left-back, forming a formidable partnership with Daryl Horgan on the left-hand side.
“He was named in the PFAI Team of the Year in 2015, captained the club in 2018, and consistently produced big performances on both domestic and European stages. Fondly remembered by supporters for his reliability, leadership, and ability to deliver in key moments.
“Now, the 35-year-old makes his return to Dundalk in a new capacity, bringing his wealth of experience, professionalism, and passion for the club into the dugout as part of Ciarán Kilduff’s backroom team. Welcome back, Dane!”
