LOUTH LGFA DIVISION 2 LEAGUE FINAL
St Mochtas 2-10 Kilkerley Emmets 1-7
St Mochtas took home the league title following this six point win over Kilkerley Emmets in the Division 2 final in Shawport Páirc Mac Diarmada on Friday evening.
Goals in either half were key to this victory for the Louth Village side, Emma Quinn’s first half major giving them a 1-4 to 0-4 lead at the break, while the point taking of Sarah Gilmore was also key for the winners, finishing with 0-6 over the hour.

A second half penalty from Emma Hoey set the Mochtas on their way to victory, while Roisin Curley, Jasmine Neacy, and Aoife Byrne also chipped in with scores for the winners.
At the other end, Kilkerley who are also promoted, despite this league defeat also contributed to an enjoyable league decider, with their second half goal coming from sub Lily Clarke, while Mia Clarke finished with 0-4. Elsewhere, Ella and Brigh McEnteggart also kicked some delightful points. Brigh McEnteggart captained Louth to Leinster minor success last year.

LOUTH LGFA DIVISION 2B SHIELD FINAL
Dreadnots 4-11 Hunterstown 1-4
The Dreadnots won the Ladies Division 2 B Shield with this emphatic victory over last year’s Intermediate Championship finalists Hunterstown Rovers in Jimmy Pentony Park on Friday night.
The Clogherhead side who include midfielder Tara Kelly, sister of Louth minor county star Connell Kelly, were full value for this win, with forwards Stephanie Cunningham, Annmarie Lynch and Ellis Briggs all helping themselves to goals in this game.
Stephanie Cunningham, who is well known in the soccer circles with Dundalk FC, showed off her scoring prowess for all to see, helping herself to 2-4 of her side’s winning tally.
As for Hunterstown, they will be hoping to make it to a third Intermediate championship final in a row and with players like Mischa Rooney making inroads in into the senior county panel in recent years, they remain a strong candidate for the title. Other players include Abbie Sheridan, Theresa Russell, Orlaith Carolan and Aine Fannin to name a few.

Naomh Mairtin 4-5 Mattock Rangers 1-11
As for the Division 3 final, it was Naomh Mairtin who took home the spoils with two goals in each half inspiring them to a dramatic win Tallanstown on Friday night.
Key to this triumph for the Monasterboice side was a hattrick from former Louth minor player Katie Murphy, with DKIT student Marcella Molloy grabbing the other major for her side.
With 10 minutes remaining, Mattock Rangers led by four points, with the scoring prowess of Maria Reid key to this. The forward finished with 0-9 to her credit, with the goal coming from Louth minor star Caoimhe Callaghan, a young bright spark for the future in Louth ladies circles.
However, late goals from Molloy and Murphy down the home straight helped the Martins come out on top in what was a hard fought victory for the Jocks.

LOUTH LGFA DIVISION 3B LEAGUE FINAL
Stabannon Parnells 3-8 St Josephs 1-13
Stabannon Parnells took home the Division 3B title with this narrow victory over St Josephs in a highly entertaining league final, which was only decided late on, with two late Stabbannon goals proving crucial, as they prevailed by the narrowest of margins.
The first half saw a goal by St Josephs’ Sinead Temple push the Joes ahead by two at the break at 1-7 to 1-5, with Sharon Callan and Laura Kieran treating those in attendance to some wonderful shooting for the Joes, accounting for 0-11 of their 1-13 tally.
As for Stabannon, Louth county panellist Zara Sweeney led a potent Stabannon line alongside Aisling Gormley, Sophie Smith and Danielle Sharkey. Sweeney, Gormley and Smith all found the net for Stabbannon on the night.
It was those set of forwards who ultimately turned up trumps for Parnells, with two goals in the final quarter sealing a one point victory for them, beating the Joes for the first time this year, as they were crowned Division 3B champions, in a game where both sides know that there are plenty of talented players on view to bring cause for optimism for the future.
