A second-half goal from substitute Alex Blakeman Fowler helped turn things around for the hosts after they had trailed at the break.
Although the Tullyallen men still occupy the bottom spot in the table, the welcome victory has boosted their chances of avoiding the drop.
There was little to choose between the teams throughout the contest and with the help of points from Liam McStravick and James Prendergast the visitors had established a 0-9 to 1-5 advantage at the break.
It was a goal from Danny Grimes that kept the Emmets in contention.
Ian O’Reilly and Kealan O’Neill were in good scoring form as the hosts hit back after the restart while Blakeman Fowler grabbed the all-important second goal to set up the win.

Dundalk Gaels 2-14 Stabannon Parnells 2-13
Dundalk Gaels edged out Stabannon Parnells as they maintained their three-point advantage at the top of Division 2.
Stabannon played host to the league leaders on Sunday afternoon and began the game hoping to cut the gap at the top but despite a valiant effort, they just fell short as the Dundalk men held out for a one-point win.
The game featured two of the in-form attackers in the league this year - Tom O’Connell and Harry Butterly – and they certainly didn’t disappoint on this occasion.
O’Connell again caught the eye as he finished with 2-5, a tally that was matched by Butterly who posted 11 points.
O’Connell grabbed his first goal in the opening half as his side went in leading by 1-11 to 1-8, with Bobby Butterly finding the net for the hosts.
O’Connell added a second goal while Sean Murray and Dylan McKeown finished with three points apiece to give their side breathing space.
However, Stabannon fought to the end and a Sean Reynolds goal cut the gap to a single point but the hosts were unable to find an equaliser as Gaels held out for victory.
Dundalk Gaels: Aaron Culligan; Tom Murphy, James O’Connell 0-1, James Lynch; Alan Jumbo, Oisin Murray, Luke Murray; James Stewart, Jordan Keating; Sean Murray 0-3 (2p), Jack Mullen, Cain Bromley 0-1; Tomas Kavanagh 0-1, Tom O’Connell 2-5, Dylan McKeown 0-3.

Kilkerley Emmets 3-15 Clan na Gael 0-13
Kilkerley Emmets responded well to their loss against Roche Emmets in Round 9 as they proved too strong for Clan na Gael at home on Sunday afternoon.
A solid first-half showing set the Emmets up for this deserved victory and although Clans responded well in the second period, the hosts finished strongly to secure the points.
Kilkerley were on the front foot from the outset and had points from Ewan McEnteggart, Micheal Begley (2p) and Luke Shevlin along with a Kieran Murtagh goal as they made their dominance count.
The Dundalk men struggled to find their rhythm but had three points from Liam O’Hanlon to cut the gap to 1-9 to 0-3 at the short whistle.
O’Hanlon added three two-point frees at the start of the second half along with a Shane Carroll point to give their side real hope.
However, Kilkerley steadied the ship with points from Darragh Conlon and Darren Geoghegan before Cormac Mallon struck two goals to put the game beyond doubt.

Mattock Rangers 0-19 St Brides 0-11
Mattock Rangers briefly went second in the table with a storming second half over St Brides at home in Collon on a drizzly Thursday night.
A string of 13 unanswered points after halftime swung the game dramatically in the hosts’ favour. Leaving Cert student Sean Flynn continued to shine with some fine finishes at the end of some eye-catching moves.
In the first half, Brides were well in contention and when Jack Thompson was given a black card, the visitors looked most likely to take the two points.
Former county panelist Sean Marry showed flashes of class but come the second half, Mattock dominated with the full complement on the field.
Mattock Rangers: Stephen Smith; Alan Carahar 0-1, Cillian Hickey, James Caraher; Tom Grimes, Shane Maguire, Ben Quaile; Ben McKenna, Robert Holmes 0-1; Jack Thompson 0-1, Cathal Fleming 0-5, Terry Donegan 0-1; Callum Wogan, Sean Flynn 0-9, Adrian Reid.

Roche Emmets 3-23 O’Raghallaighs 2-15
Roche Emmets jumped to second in the Division 2 table with a high-scoring win over struggling O’Raghallaigh’s in the Gaelic Grounds on Sunday afternoon.
An own goal in the first half kept things close enough for the hosts to disguise the result but Emmets were much the better side over the hour.
Barry O’Hare was in incredible shooting form once again for the winners stretching their lead over and over again. Kyle McElroy did manfully put up some resistance but Cathal Corcoran’s late goal sent Roche on their way.
The storming start meant O’Raghallaigh’s loss now sees them under pressure above and below them at the foot of the table. Glen Emmets have closed the gap, while Plunketts draw sees them grasp some daylight between the Drogheda sides.
Roche Emmets: Jamie O’Hare, Dermot Carthy, Matthew McArdle, Gerry Browne; Fionn Connolly 0-2, David Quigley, Jack McKay; Liam Dawe 0-2; Glen Stewart; Sean Dawe 0-1, Shane Byrne 0-3; DD Reilly 0-2; Alex McArdle, Barry O’Hare 2-11, Cathal Corcoran 1-1.

St Kevins 0-13 Oliver Plunketts 0-13
A crucial point for both sides in Mell on Sunday evening as St. Kevin’s and Oliver Punketts played out a tense draw. There is a lot at stake for both and the result could be important down ahead of the final round.
The penultimate round stalemate still sees the Philipstown men on the edge of a top-six place despite being denied all two points thanks to the late equaliser from a free from Plunketts forward Kristian Nolan.
Plunketts were reeled in and fell behind with five second-half points from Seanie Crosbie as his last looked to be the winner. Kevin’s were behind at the interval but roared back but could not hold out despite taking the lead so late.
The point now sees the Plunketts provide some daylight above fellow Drogheda side O’Raghallaigh’s at the bottom of the Division Two table.
Oliver Plunketts: Luke Haggans; Shane Lambe, David McTaggart, Ricky Bateson; Barry Reynolds, Jamie Byrne, David Lambe; Shaun Smith, Dean Carolan; Adam Smith, Adam Lambe, Conor Haggans; Sean Callaghan, Cian Brady, Kristian Nolan.
Subs: Kenny Hurley, Sean Boyle.
St Kevins: Joshua Finlay; Caoimhin Prout, Niall Gregory, Darren McMullan; Donnacha Boylan, Seanie Crosbie 0-6, Dylan Maher; Cameron Maher 0-1, Brian Callaghan; Robbie Matthews, James Kieran 0-4, Jacob Finlay 0-1; Lee Crosbie, Keelan Maher, Josh McArdle Lynch 0-1.
