Lannleire 4-9 Na Piarsaigh Blackrock 2-14

Colin Murphy landed an injury-time point to see Lannleire snatch victory over Na Piarsaigh Blackrock in Dundalk on Sunday afternoon.

The home side looked to have earned their reward for an impressive comeback when they hit five points to draw level on 60 minutes. However, Lannleire had the final say as Murphy held his nerve to point from a free.

The Dunleer men got off to a blistering start as Darragh Malone had the ball in the net on three minutes, with Ian Mulroy doing likewise in the 8th minute.

However, the Naps hit back with two two-pointers from Ciaran Murphy before Robert Murphy hit the net to see his side lead by 1-8 to 2-3 at the break.

Lannleire looked to have taken command of the game once again when they added further goals through Brendan Cassidy and Bob Murphy (penalty) in the third quarter to lead by six.

The Dundalk side gave themselves hope with Murphy’s second goal before three Robbie Murphy points and a two-pointer from Shane Roddy looked to have rescued a draw.
