Festive charity show Fairytale of Dundalk returns this Christmas to new venue
Fairytale of Dundalk in support of North Louth Hospice will take place in the Blackrock Suite at the Fairways Hotel on Monday, December 21
Dundalk’s premier festive celebration and charity concert, Fairytale of Dundalk, will make its return this festive season.
This year, the annual Christmas variety show moves to a new venue; the Blackrock Suite at the Fairways Hotel, and will take place on Monday, December 21, 2026.
The much-loved local festive tradition promises to be an unforgettable night of entertainment, community spirit, and holiday cheer, all in support of the North Louth Hospice.
The change of venue comes after organisers of the annual charity event hit out at hike rates at An Táin Arts Centre where the show usually took place.
The cost of hiring out An Táin Theatre in Dundalk has risen from €700 to €1,200, which was raised at the most recent meeting of Louth County Council over concerns that schools and charities are being priced out of staging events at the venue.
The Fairytale of Dundalk festivities will kick off at 7pm with a Mulled Wine and Mince Pie Reception in the Blackrock Suite lobby, before the main performance begins sharply at 8pm.
Attendees can look forward to a diverse lineup showcasing some amazing local talent, including Zoe Conway with John McIntyre & family, Dundalk Brass Band, Scale Force, The Long Riders, The Decades & Friends, Cuchulainn Celtic Strings & Friends, Scoil Rince Uí Chonghaioe and many more to be announced!
The evening will also feature a festive raffle for many luxury Christmas hampers, all donated by some wonderful local businesses, with all event proceeds directly benefiting North Louth Hospice to help fund vital palliative care services across the community.
"Fairytale of Dundalk has become a beloved tradition for the local community, bringing people together to celebrate the season while making a meaningful difference," said Melissa Hayes, project manager of the event.
"We are thrilled to welcome guests to our new home at the Fairways Hotel for what promises to be our most spectacular show yet."
