The audience will be treated to a boisterous evening of laughter, love, hope and desire in Seamus O’Rourke’s latest production ‘Love Hungry Farmer’
An Táin Arts Centre will welcome acclaimed Irish storyteller and performer Seamus O’Rourke for an boisterous evening of laughter, love, hope and desire in his latest production ‘Love Hungry Farmer’, on Thursday 24th September
John Bosco McLaine has never lain down with a woman, but romantic blood has pulsed through his veins all his life.
An eternal optimist and confirmed virgin, John sets out on a determined search for his ideal companion, undeterred by failure, age or the plentiful advice of those around him.
In a community where advice is ample and women are few, he follows his heart in an ultimate bid to find himself a wife.
Often described as the natural successor to John B. Keane as one of Ireland’s great contemporary storytellers, O’Rourke brings John Bosco McLaine vividly to life, capturing the wit, warmth and wonderful storytelling associated with Keane’s work.
An Táin Arts Centre Director Paul Hayes said: “We’re delighted to welcome Seamus O’Rourke to An Táin Arts Centre with this fantastic production.
“His masterful storytelling has a wonderful ability to connect with audiences, and John Bosco McLaine is a character that promises plenty of laughs, heart and unforgettable moments.”
Tickets Thursday 24th September €20 (+ €1.50 Booking Fee Per Ticket) and can be purchased at An Táin Arts Centre box office on Crowe St, over the phone on 042 933 2332, or online at www.antain.ie.
