Last week saw archers from CúChulainn Archers, Louth, competing in two different competitions.

Adria and Gerard Quinn competed in the Field and Hunter round at Drumquin Archery Club in Tyrone.

The competition took place over two days at the weekend, with 14 targets being shot twice, once in the morning and again in the afternoon on each day.

Both Archers found Saturday very challenging as there were winds of up to 30km per hour.

Sunday turned out to be a better day with lighter winds, and both shot better, ending up reasonably happy with how it all finished.

Also competing at the weekend in Co. Down this time were Alan Convery, Gilbert McClelland, Philip Fitzpatrick, Darrel Wilson and Ryan Dougan.

The two-day 3D competition was the Ballyvalley Bluebell competition hosted by Ballyvalley Archers, Banbridge, at Loughbrickland.

The first day, Saturday, was an unmarked round where archers had to guess the distances and the second day, Sunday, the distances were marked. All did very well,

Alan Convery won a gold medal in the Masters Men Compound. As well as the gold medal, Alan broke two Irish Records and two British Records and also put in a qualifying score for the World 3D Championships.

Gilbert McClelland won a silver medal in the Masters Men Compound, and Phillip Fitzpatrick won a bronze medal in the Masters Men Compound.

Darrel Wilson won a gold medal in the Senior Men Compound, and Ryan Dougan won silver in the Senior Men Barebow.

Next up was Neil Keeble, who competed in the 3D Championships over two days at two different archery clubs.

The first leg, Saturday, was at Carrowmore Archers in Co.Sligo, where Niel took the Bronze medal in Senior Men Barebow.

The second leg, Sunday, was at Marble Archers club in Co. Cavan. Neil was joined on Sunday in Cavan by his wife, Siobhan Keeble, Mark Young and James Moloney.

Neil, competing again, took a gold medal in the Senior Men Barebow, and Siobhan Keeble won a gold medal in the Senior Female Barebow.

Mark Young won a gold medal in the Master Men Barebow, and James Maloney won a bronze medal in the Master Men Barebow.

A good weekend of competition was had by all they returned with a very nice haul of medals. Congratulations to all.
