Last Monday evening there was great excitement, at our weekly meeting, when the victorious bowls team of Pat and Bernie Cunningham, Seamus Malone and Felix Loughran returned as All Ireland Bowls champions. They had just won the Active Retirement Ireland 4th Annual National Bowls competition held in Killarney. The magnificent cup was admired by the all the attendance. Anyone with a Facebook account can view the large numbers of photos, of all the teams, on the Active Retirement Ireland page. Congratulations again to the team.
Monday 10th June, Rita will give a very interesting talk on Wellbeing and the following week; 17th June we have Tony O’Callaghan with songs and yarns. On the 17th names and menu choice for the Tea Evening the following week will be taken.
Further along the road we hope some of our members will enter the Arts and Crafts Section, for Active Retired members, in Virginia Show on August 21st.

Kilcurry Community Resource Centre is celebrating the 10th Anniversary of its Official Opening in June of this year.We want to acknowledge the great work done by all who were involved over the many years, to raise the money to buy the field, erect the Pre-fab and all who helped run it, those who helped plan the new centre, those who donated money and their time, those who collected lotto and all those who served on the committee and worked in any way to bring about the building and facilities which we have today.
A Mass of Thanksgiving (for the gift of the help of all those people, both living and deceased) has been arranged in the Centre on Friday 28th June at 7pm. All who helped in any way to bring the dream of a place for our families, friends and neighbours to use, to fruition.

Judging in the Tidy Towns comprtition will take place at any time during the month of June. We would ask everyone to do all they can to tidy up around their own property, painting, planting, mowing and keeping it all litter free. Please don’t leave it to someone else.
