Louth St Patrick's Day Parade 2025 complete guide includes Taylor Swift tribute act

All you need to know about weekend of festivities across Louth

St Patrick's day 2025 is just around the corner with entertainment in Louth lined up for the whole community to enjoy.

Here is a complete line-up of events and parades planned in towns around Louth- Dundalk, Ardee, Blackrock, Cooley and Drogheda. 

Dundalk:

Dundalk's parade starts at 1pm on Patrick Street and this years theme is ‘Green Dream’.

The parade route will start at Church Street, then Clanbrassil Street to Crowe Street to Francis Street to Park Street to Dublin Street and will then finish at Tesco Extra.

The grand marshal is Collette O’Hagan who is an Irish female athlete from Dundalk.

There will be a relaxed zone for those with sensory issues from Utopia on Dublin Street until the end of the parade, where no sirens or loud horns are permitted.

There will be live music and a family fun zone at Market Square from 2pm to 5pm on the day with a DJ and local bands.

Ardee: 

Ardee parade will begin sharply at 3pm starting from the North end of the town, with grand marshal named as John Caffrey of Caffrey's Home bakery and coffee shop.

Those taking part in the event should arrive no later than 2:30pm.

There will be a relaxed zone provided during the parade for those with sensory issues, on Bridge Street from Brian Muldoon's restaurant where no sirens or horns will be permitted. 

Blackrock:

The Blackrock St Patrick's Day parade involves two days of fun, with a fun day planned for Sunday March 16 along with the parade on Monday March 17.

The Sunday fun day will include family entertainment including special visitor JJ, face-painting and balloon modelling.

There will be games for all ages including match the bottle challenge, toss the beany and four in a row with lots of free prizes to be won. 

The parade on Monday will start at 1pm from St Fursey’s Terrace in Cocklehill with a day packed with entertainment, raffles, live music, food and games, a magic show and more.

The raffle for Blackrock hospice will start at 1:15pm and prized to be won include a Dublin cookery school voucher for two people

Cooley:

The parade in Cooley will commence at Bush, Riverstown at 1pm on Sunday 16th March.

The parade will proceed from the Bush to Cooley Kickham’s Complex for approximately 2pm
Live music and hot food will be provided and a children’s disco will take place downstairs. 

Drogheda:

There will be a fireworks display at the riverfront at 8pm on Friday, 14th March, sponsored by Love Drogheda BID to start off the weekend of celebrations in Drogheda.

On Saturday 15th March, there will be a special Taylor Swift tribute act, with a market and carnival all day at Scotch Hall Plaza.

The carnival and market in Scotch Hall plaza will also be available all day Sunday.

On Monday 17th March, the main event St. Patrick’s Day parade 2025 starts at 12 noon with Drogheda United FC as Grand Marshals.
Music on stage at St Peter’s church Plaza after parade with a leprechaun hunt, face painting and Irish dancing in Scotch Hall shopping centre.
Carnival and market on the plaza as well.
