A dull day with scattered showers to begin. Rain will slowly spread northeastwards from the southwest through the afternoon.

As it does so, it will become patchier, giving way to drier conditions in the evening.

Light to moderate or fresh southeasterly winds will veer westerly as the rain passes. Highest temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees.

There is uncertainty in the forecast detail for Friday night. Current indications are that it will start off cloudy and misty with patchy rain and drizzle becoming mainly confined to Ulster early on.

Clearer conditions will develop from the south through the night. However, further rain, possibly heavy at times, may push into the southwest later on.

Lowest temperatures of 5 to 11 degrees with mostly light to moderate southerly winds.
