As Florida prepares for Hurricane Milton, here Met Éireann predicts a cold and wet week ahead
As Floridians brace for Hurricane Milton, Met Éireann have predicted a much calmer forecast on our side of the Atlantic.
Met Éireann's overall outlook for the week ahead suggests a mix of showers and sunshine across the country with some cool temperatures.
According to Met Éireann, Wednesday morning will be "quite cloudy with lingering rain and drizzle over the eastern half of the country gradually clearing." Elsewhere, however, will have a drier start to the day.
Wednesday afternoon will see a mixture of sunny spells and showers, with Met Éireann saying: "By early afternoon it will turn mainly dry with sunny spells, though a few showers will feed into the north and west. Highest temperatures of 9 to 14 degrees in moderate to fresh northerly winds."
Wednesday night can expect: "Clear spells and scattered showers, mainly in the north and west. Some showers are possible in Leinster too, where it will be cloudier. It will be colder than recent nights, with lows of 3 to 7 degrees, in a light to moderate northerly wind.

Thursday's forecast suggests a colder day is in store across the country. Met Éireann's Thursday outlook says: "Mostly dry with sunny spells but a few showers will drift into the north and northwest in a light to moderate north to northwest breeze. Cool, with temperatures reaching between 8 and 11 degrees.
"Thursday night: Mostly dry and clear but cloudier in the northwest and west with some showers continuing. Cold with temperatures dropping to between 1 and 5 degrees in a light westerly breeze."
Met Éireann's Friday forecast says: "Cloudy with scattered showers in the north and west but drier with sunny spells in other areas. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in a light to moderate westerly wind.
"Another cold night [Friday], largely dry with a mix of clear spells and further showers feeding into the northwest. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 6 degrees, coldest in the south, in a light southwesterly breeze."
