Ardee Celtic 1-3 Rock Celtic

Rock Celtic began their Premier Division campaign with a win away to Ardee Celtic on Thursday night.

Daniel Kerr gave the Blackrock men the lead after 10 minutes. However, Ardee pulled level in the early stages of the second period when Shawni Dowdall's delivery was turned into his own net by a Rock defender.

The Deesiders had opportunities to take the lead - young striker Bryan O'Connor twice going close - and they were made to pay for those and other misses in the closing stages as Kizito Ekwueme and David Ward both found the net to hand Rock a convincing victory.
