Dundalk FC striker Patrick Hoban has been ‘longlisted’ for the 2018 RTÉ Sportsperson of the Year award.

Striker Hoban broke the all-time Premier Division goalscoring record by registering 29 league goals in a remarkable season and played a vital role in Dundalk’s double success.

Ravensdale’s Eve McCrystal alongside her paracycling partner, Katie-George Dunlevy, have also been ‘longlisted’ following their defence of the World Women’s B Tandem Road Race and Time Trial titles.

A shortlist is to be finalised this week ahead of the presentation ceremony on Saturday week, December 15.

For McCrystal, it completes an excellent week on the honours' front. Tonight, she will receive her fifth Coiste Siamsa award, which are presented to Garda members who have achieved success in their chosen sports, locally, nationally and internationally.
