Square United earned a return to the Premier Division on Sunday afternoon after a dramatic 2-2 draw at home to Enfield Celtic.
It didn’t look good for the Ardee men, who fell two goals behind against the run of play, but, determined to keep their unbeaten league record, they hit back.
Martin Duffy and Robbie Leavy struck home stunning, long-range efforts to level the scores - at outcome which, coupled with Parkvilla’s victory away to OMP United, ensured Square of promotion.
The men in green pushed for a winner, a goal which could have kept them in title contention. However, they had to settle for a point, with Parkvilla - who sit level with them on 22 points - now favourites for the crown with a game in hand.
