Georgie Poynton has become the second player to announce his departure from Dundalk FC in a week.

The Oriel Park academy graduate follows Gabriel Sava in leaving the Lilywhites at the end of the double-winning season.

Poynton announced his exit on Instagram, writing: "Like all good things they have to come to an end, just like to thank everyone in the town for a great 5 years, like to thank Martin Connolly and Mick Neville especially for bringing me to such a great club, some of the best players to play in Irish football I've played with over the years and I'll be forever greatful, all the best for the future!"

However, in better news, it is believed that an announcement over Dane Massey's future is imminent.
