History made as Dundalk Golf Club win first Leinster senior pennant

The victorious Dundalk team.

History was made at Mount Wolseley this afternoon as Dundalk Golf Club's senior team claimed the Barton Shield title - their first ever Leinster senior pennant.

Seven up with six holes to play against Enniscorthy in today's final, the matches were called in as Dundalk were crowned. Aaron Grant & Josh Mackin were 2up, while Caolan Rafferty and Eoghan Murphy were five up at that point.

Dundalk had defeated Corrstown and Elm Park in the previous rounds on Friday.

They'll now head to the All-Ireland finals in Thurles in October.
