Intermediate Championship winning manager Paddy Bates has stood down as manager of O'Connell's.
The Monaghan-native led the 'Bellingham outfit to an immediate return to the senior ranks following victory over Clan na Gael in the Intermediate decider.
O'Connell's were subsequently knocked out of Leinster by Curraha a fortnight ago following a dramatic first-round victory over Carlow side Kilbride.
It was widely expected that Bates - who has also managed Glyde Rangers and St. Patrick's in Louth - would remain at the helm for 2018. However, LMFM's Colm Corrigan announced in the last few minutes that he will be stepping aside.
