The action in the Tuborg Dundalk Pool league resumed after the Christmas break with
Wayne Rogers played Vincent Brannigan in the opening match and in both frames Wayne took advantage of mistakes to win 2-0 and put Rovers 1-0 ahead before they doubled their lead when captain Pat Brady beat Justin McArdle 2-0.

Avenue Avengers, who sat joint top of the table, travelled to play the Blue Anchor Ravens and the home side got off to the best possible start when Peter O’Hagan beat Adrian Woods 2-0. The second match featured the Ravens captain, Barry Keane, and Aidan Kinsella and, with a superb five-ball clearance, Aidan won the opening frame.
Barry levelled the match with an amazing six ball clearance in the next frame, only for Aidan to win a tactical deciding frame to level the match at 1-1.
After this, the home team took control of the match as Patrick McArdle, Mark McGuinness and Peter Vogelaar all won their matches to leave the final score 4-1 in favour of the Ravens.
Castle Bar Baize entertained Avenue United and the home team started brightly as Conor McDonnell beat John McQuillan 2-1.
The scores were level when the returning Glen Duffy beat the Baize’s captain, Liam Johnston, 2-0.
Paul Ruane put the home team back in front with two excellent finishes to beat Joe Lee 2-0 before United captain Jonathan Smith levelled the match at 2-2 when he beat Matthew Hoey 2-1. In the deciding match, Simon Connolly beat Stephen McBride 2-0 to complete a 3-2 victory for Avenue United.
The big match in Division Two saw league leaders Castle Bar Rejects travel to play second in the table
The home team were on top form as they raced into a 4-0 lead with victories for Alan Meegan, Jason McArdle, Seamus Conroy and James King.
The unbeaten David McQuillan put a win on the scorecard for the visitors when he beat Kenneth Conroy 2-0 in the last match to leave the final score 4-1 in favour of Cluskey’s.
Elsewhere in Division Two, Commercial Destroyers played host to Sean’s Tavern and it was the visitors who started like a train when Niall McEvoy beat Noel Neary 2-0.
Philip Cassidy, making his league debut, levelled the match when he beat Pat Jackson 2-0 and the Destroyers went in front when captain David Moran beat Kevin
Tony O’Hare levelled the match again when he beat a disappointing Ciaran McShane 2-1 but Ryan Dillon was the hero for the Destroyers when he beat Martin Lynam 2-1 in the decider to leave the final score 3-2 in favour of the Destroyers.
