NH MAIRTIN 1-11
ROCHE EMMETS 1-8
Naomh Mairtin came through a stern test away to Roche Emmets on Friday evening before making their way home with both points.
The Faughart men gave a good account of themselves on the night but fell short of what would have been a crucial win. On a weekend when other results went against them, Roche now find themselves level with Mattock Rangers at the foot of the table.
On a night when Tom Gray and Conor Whelan accounted for all but two of their side’s scores, the Mairtins didn’t have it all their own way and they went in level at 1-2 to 0-5, with Roche claiming the first goal of the game through Shane Byrne.
The second period remained close, but it was the Monasterboice side who had the slight edge and a goal from Gray sealed victory.

SEAN O’MAHONYS 2-12
NEWTOWN BLUES 0-9
Sean O’Mahonys produced an excellent team performance at the Point Road on Thursday night as they came out on top against Newtown Blues.
The Drogheda men made the trip in the hope of maintaining their pursuit of leaders St Mochtas, but were never allowed to get into their rhythm as the hosts deservedly took the spoils.
Second half goals from Junior Shotayo and Thomas Rice sealed the victory that moved the O’Mahonys into third place in the table, just a point behind the Blues.
In what proved to be a very entertaining game, the hosts were on the front foot from the outset and with Riche and Conor Finegan among the points, they had established a lead of 0-9 to 0-5 at half time.
A brace apiece from Daire Nally and Jamie Kelly kept the Blues hopes alive, but they were unable to find the goal they needed to turn the game around. In the end it was the O’Mahonys who raised the green flag on two occasions to settle the issue.

St Mochtas stretched their advantage at the top of Division 1 thanks to this comfortable victory over Geraldines on Thursday night.
With Newtown Blues slipping up away to Sean O’Mahonys on the same night, the Louth Village side find themselves four clear of the chasing pack.
The Gers travelled to the game hoping to reignite their challenge at the top end of the table but they were unable to find their best form on a night when the Mochtas were always in charge, with Declan Byrne’s two goals putting the seal on a good evening’s work. By the time the half time whistle sounded, the Louth Village men had established a 0-8 to 0-3 lead.
The visitors were never able to threaten that advantage in the second half and it was the Mochtas who turned on the style. Byrne’s double ensured his team had a comfortable win on a night when Shane Lennon, Liam Lawlro, Oisin Callan and Conor Garland were also on target.
Conor Rafferty came off the bench to score a consolation goal for the Gers, while Sean Gartlan, Shaen Rogers and Brian Cafferty were also on the mark.

ST PATRICKS 2-10
Dreadnots enjoyed their trip to Lordship on Friday night as they rattled in six goals on their way to an impressive victory that moves them further away from the relegation zone in Division 1.
Jay Hughes was the star of the show for the winners as he bagged four goals and finished with a personal tally of 4-4, while Owen Murphy and Peter Kirwan also raised green flags.
The Clogherhead men wasted no time in finding their goal touch as an early point was followed by two goals inside five minutes.
The Pats responded in kind as Danny O’Connor (penalty) and Conor McGuinness found the net to cut the gap to 2-2 to 2-1 on ten minutes.
The goalmouth action didn’t stop there as the Dreadnots struck again after 19 minutes to help his side lead by 3-5 to 2-5 at the break. The Pats defence didn’t learn their lesson as they conceded two further goals in the third quarter as the visitors took control.

ST FECHINS 1-10
COOLEY KICKHAMS 0-12
St Fechins earned a much-needed win this evening over the peninsula men by the slimmest of margins in Beaulieu on Friday night.
Fechins got off to the brighter start with points from Ryan Walsh and James McGlew and they then extended their lead further with a super goal, also from Walsh. Cooley got off the mark with a point from play in the 11th minute, which was cancelled out by another point from Walsh.
The next ten minutes saw Cooley take over, pointing twice from placed balls and once from play. Again, Fechins went on the attack with the two marksmen, Walsh and Joe Corrigan before Walsh was then replaced by John Woods due to injury. Cooley put on another spurt with three points unanswered to leave only one between the sides at half time, 1-5 to 0-7.
The second half was a very tight affair, with Cooley taking the lead following two points both from play before Joe Corrigan levelled with a pointed free. Cooley again went ahead but Aaron McGlew equalised from play.
With Corrigan having his shooting boots on, he put the home side ahead with two excellently taken frees. Cooley had their chances to level but put three wides on the trot before on 27 minutes they pointed from play to leave one between the sides and all to play for.
Midfielder Eoin Hacket made a great run under pressure to get on the scoreboard to again put two between the sides. Cooley weren’t finished and in the dying seconds pointed from play, but the home side hung on to the lead and the much needed two points on the table.

MATTOCK RANGERS 2-10
ARDEE ST. MARY’S 1-12
Mattock Rangers were handed a relegation boost in Collon last Thursday night when they defeated neighbours Ardee St. Mary’s. The scoreline did not match how convincing the winners were on the night.
It was the county champions that started much the brighter racing into a healthy lead after Conor Gillespie found the net. Rangers came back and finished the half strong thanks to Seán Flynn’s first goal of the night.
The hosts then led 1-5 to 1-4 at the interval. A host of missed one on one chances where Gavin Douglas deserves huge credit saw Ardee fail to push on. Instead Flynn nailed his second as Gus Flynn’s side held on to win their first match in five.
