Clann Naofa Boxing Academy are delighted to bring the High Five Programme to County Louth. The High Five Programme is an inclusive boxing training programme for children with disabilities and additional needs.

The IABA High Five Programme for children with disabilities and additional needs began in Dublin, in October 2021 led by Paddy Dingle.

Clann Naofa Boxing Academy based in Muirhevnamor, Dundalk expressed their interest in the IABA in 2022 to facilitate the programme by providing disability inclusive boxing training for children in Dundalk and surrounding areas.

Clann Naofa Boxing Academy High Five Programme coaches are volunteers with a mixed skill set of highly decorated boxing coaches, varied professionals and third-level students all with the shared vision of welcoming and providing the High Five programme to children with disabilities and additional needs.

Clann Naofa Boxing Academy acknowledge and would like to thank Julie Duffy, Sports Inclusion Disability Officer from Louth Local Sports Partnership, Ina McCrumlish, Project Coordinator, Louth Local Development and Paula Keenan, Healthy Louth Coordinator, Louth County Council who organised Disability Inclusion training with Active Disability Ireland and provided funding for essential suitable equipment and training to enable Clann Naofa commence the High Five pilot sessions.

Clann Naofa Boxing Academy rely on fundraising to meet the general expenses to ensure the upkeep of the club facilities. Clann Naofa Boxing Academy welcomes any local businesses who would like to support the High Five Programme going forward.

Finally, a special thank you to Drimagh and Crumlin Boxing Clubs who welcomed our coaches to attend their High Five programme training sessions which gave Clann Naofa Boxing Academy coaches the opportunity to speak to parents and coaches before launching our pilot sessions.

Clann Naofa Boxing Academy High Five will have completed three pilot sessions on Tuesday 7th May 2024 which has been a positive experience for the children who attended and coaches alike.

Registration night for Clann Naofa Boxing Academy High Five Programme will take place on Tuesday 7th May 2024 at 6pm. Unfortunately, numbers are limited to 12 children per session so a waiting list may apply.

The programme is aligned with the academic school year. Further information available on social media platforms is as follows:
