Opinion: Lionel Messi - the greatest ever
Yesterday marked a momentous occasion in football history.
The legendary Lionel Messi got his hands on his first World Cup - a picture that football fans all around the globe were wishing for before the ageless 35-year-old hangs up his boots.
Throughout the tournament, Messi showed not only the sensational quality he possesses but also how much resilience the 5'7 genius has.
There was pressure on Messi's shoulders, as there always has been. Argentinian supporters expect greatness from the boy from Rosario. He lived up to those expectations, and more.

The PSG attacker, who helped guide Lionel Scaloni's side to the Copa America title in Brazil last year, deserved the one trophy that has eluded him for so long.
It was evident that Sunday was a 'meant-to-be' moment for the former Barcelona star. This was Lionel Messi's hour. Nobody was going to stop him, not even his talented club teammate and France talisman Kylian Mbappé.
In my opinion, there is no debating who the greatest of all time is after witnessing Messi strut his magic in Qatar over the last month.
Enjoy this football icon while he is still playing - we won't realise what we had until he retires from the game.
I will leave you with this picture. Messi finally gets his hands on the World Cup:
