Dundalk fisherman demonstrates his skills at Angling Fair

Dundalk’s Francis Rafferty was part of the juvenile Irish Trout Fly Fishing Association group who recently appeared at the Annual Angling Fair which was held at the National Show Centre in Cloghran, County Dublin.

Dundalk’s Francis Rafferty was part of the juvenile Irish Trout Fly Fishing Association group who recently appeared at the Annual Angling Fair which was held at the National Show Centre in Cloghran, County Dublin.

Four time world coarse angling champion Bob Nudd and former International Fly Fishing Association President Michael Callaghan were amongst those who called to visit the youths at their stand.

Rafferty, Ciaran Reilly and Dylan Ennis demonstrated their fly tying skills at the stand whilst Sean Dempsey and Ryan Binley gave very impressive fly casting demonstrations at the casting pool.

The 2013 Irish Youths team have commenced preparations for the 2013 Youths international Fly Angling Competition which will take place at Llyn Brenig, Llangollen, Wales on August 7.

Juveniles who are interested in participating in the sport should contact their local trout angling club or ITFFA Youths Officer, Mr George Behan at 087 2607300.
