The Dundalk & District Old IRA Easter Commemoration took place on the morning of Easter Sunday. The annual event was attended by past and present Fianna Fáil members, which saw the event begin with a mass for deceased members at St Patrick's Cathedral Dundalk that morning.

Following this members assembled in St Patrick's Cemetery and a slow march to the Republican plot took place led by the Dundalk Brass Band.

A wreath was laid at the plot, followed by a recital of a decade of the rosary in Irish. After this the Proclamation of Independence was read by Senator Erin McGreehan, with the flags then lowered and the last post sounded. Following an oration the National Anthem was played, concluding the ceremony.
