Louth's Rob Kearney handed 75th start for Ireland in Six Nations opener with France this weekend

The Leinster man will play at full-back

Louth's Rob Kearney has been named to play at full-back for Ireland's crucial Six Nations opener with France in Paris this weekend.

Kearney is one of seven Leinster players selected in the starting XV for Saturday's encounter at the Stade de France.

Having returned from injury in time for the last November series, the former Cooley Kickhams GAA player is set to earn his 79th cap and 75th start against the French.

In all, Joe Schmidt has handed out three Six Nations debuts with Ulster's Jacob Stockdale, Bundee Aki of Ulster and James Ryan from Leinster those set to make their competition bows.

The match kicks-off at 4:45pm.
