Local player Shane Grimes signs for Cliftonville

Former Dundalk FC left-back Shane Grimes has signed for Cliftonville in the North.

Grimes departed Oriel Park at the end of the campaign following three-seasons under Stephen Kenny where he featured mainly as understudy to Dane Massey.

He battled his way back from a career-threatening hamstring injury 12-months ago and played the full 90-minutes in the Lilywhites' EA Sports Cup triumph last season.

Grimes is the second local player to have signed with the Reds recently, following Conor McDonald.
