A man in his 50s has died and two women in their 60s were injured in an overnight assault in Dublin.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to reports of an assault at Foster Terrace, Dublin 3, shortly before 1.30am in the early hours of Saturday morning.
A man, aged in his 50s, was discovered with serious injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene, where his body currently remains.
Two women, both aged in their 60s, were taken to hospital for their injuries.
One woman was treated for non-life threatening injures and remains in hospital awaiting discharge.
The second woman was treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries and remains receiving medical treatment in hospital.
The scene at Foster Terrace and a nearby house have been preserved for forensic examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.
The Coroner and the Office of the State Pathologist have been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.
No arrests have been made at this time, gardaí confirmed.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or has any information in relation to this incident, to come forward.
Investigating Gardaí are also appealing to anyone with camera footage, including motorists with dashcam footage from the area between 1am and 1.30am on Saturday, January 31, to contact them.
