Motorcyclist killed in Co Waterford crash

A motorcyclist has died in a road crash in Co Waterford.

The man, aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene close to Bunmahon on Wednesday night.

A Garda spokesperson said the single-vehicle collision occurred on the R675 at Ballinahilla at about 11.45pm.

“The motorcyclist, a male in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene,” they said on Thursday.

“His body was removed to the morgue at University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem examination is due to take place.

“The road remains closed this morning to facilitate a technical examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.

“Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.”
