Students at Dublin City University are appealing for public support for their 24 hour sailathon from 12pm, April 18 to 12pm, April 19 at the National Yacht Club in aid of DCU alumna Hannah Leonard.
DCU's SurfNSail club set up a GoFundMe on March 25 in support of the former club member who suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of being struck by a car during a training run for the Dublin Marathon.
The club's GoFundMe page reads: "Following life-saving surgery in Sicily, she underwent numerous additional procedures. In January 2025, Hannah was flown back to Ireland via air ambulance and admitted to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, where her recovery journey continues."
